Egyptian Secret Wax Facial
$23.00 – $45.00
Description
Have you had the pleasure of having your hands in a paraffin dip? That kind of silky-soft indulgence is usually only done at fancy spas. But with Egyptian Secret you can treat yourself like Queen of the Nile.
This powerful mask is like doing a paraffin dip for your face. First you apply a healing oil and then you paint three layers of paraffin onto your skin. Treat yourself to a bath or do a half-hour meditation and then peel it off. It may sound a little intensive, but it’s well worth it when you see the results. Egyptian Secret is the world’s greatest at-home spa treatment. It rehydrates and softens dry skin. Normalizes combination skin, heals acne conditions, removes black heads, white heads and other impurities imbedded in the skin and one customer even had it pull out a cyst.
I doubt Cleopatra actually did this mask, but if she had it would certainly explain her touted beauty. Perhaps if you use this facial faithfully generations to come will still be raving about you! Wax can be reused for about 10 facials.
Kit Contains: 1 oz. Oil & 1 oz. Wax, Brush and Instructions. Wax and Oil can also be purchased separately.
Additional Information
Oil: Light Cosmetic Oil, Mint Essential Oil, Red Mineral Color.
Wax: Paraffin Wax, Camphor, Mint Essential Oil.

Can’t get it to work
Hello, I have just bought the Egyptian skin care wax but I have a problem with the wax: I have heated it, but as soon as I put it on my skin, it crumbles. Does it have to be completely liquid before being put on your skin? What is the best way to heat it? And what is a double boiler?
I have loved all of your products so far, but I don’t understand how this one works… :/
Thank you for your help!

Dear Valerie,
Yes, it has to be completely liquid – but more importantly your skin should be warm to the touch and you should have LOTS of that oil on. Crumbling usually means either your skin is cold or you don’t have enough of the oil on. Or it could mean your moving your face while you paint. You have to hold really still while you have the wax on. Once you have 3 layers of wax on your face it is pretty strong – but not strong enough to stand against a case of giggles and it will crack – or worse get an air bubble that will just tickle you insane and you’ll be forced to take it off early.
The most important part of heating the wax is NOT to over heat it. I usually use the microwave. Just scoop it out of the tin and put it in a microwaveable dish. Heat for about 30 seconds, stir and then keep heating it at 15 second intervals, stirring in between, until it is completely liquid – but not steaming, smoking or bubbling. You can also use a scentsy or candle warmer to get the wax to liquid, without over heating.
Let me know how it turns out! This facial is wonderful when you finally get it right.

Now I get it!
I did try it again. This time I made sure my face was covered with oil and that the wax was liquid – it takes an awful lot of time to heat in the microwave, though! :/ – and it worked much better! There were still spots on my face where the wax did crumble a little, but I will try again, and I am sure the third time will be a charm!
With all this work, I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE RESULT IS FANTASTIC! fantastic!

I’m glad to hear it was better the second time! I’m always a little over cautious when telling people to microwave. Now that you know what to look and feel for for when microwaving try putting it in for 30-45 seconds for the first heat and then stir and then continue to microwave at 15 second intervals until liquid. If you ever feel that it is too crumbly in an area after painting the three coats try putting more wax on just that area. Might help.
I love this stuff too. It is fantastic!

Wax didn’t harden
The wax never hardened after I applied it. I even tried going outside in the cold. I had to wipe it off and I was looking forward to peeling it! It should peel off right? My face does feel softer….

help, didn’t harden
Help! Why didn’t my mask harden?
****
Answer: You need to paint on a LOT of the wax to keep it solid on the skin, but it will not fully harden. Many customers seem to think should be as hard as a cast and that you’ll remove it in one piece like a Halloween mask. But this is not really so, just paint on a lot of the wax until it clings to your skin and then apply a couple more coats until your skin cannot breath through the wax. This lets the camphor do it’s magic. Leave on for 20 minutes– trying not to move because you can crack the layers and then it flakes all over or you can cause air bubbles underneath which will drive you crazy. At the end of 20 minutes, peel off the wax and go over the skin with a warm wet wash cloth followed by Skin Freshener.

It pulled out a stringoma!
I cannot believe how much I this facial. Firstly, the wax DID harden up on me, so maybe that had something to do with it. But I had a little syringoma on the side of my face for the last two years and when I took off the wax I found that it had opened up. It looked like a bloody open zit (gross I know), but over the next week it keep forming a scab and then one night I was picking at it (yeah, I know, don’t pick) but when I pulled off the scab a long string came out. The hole closed up the next day and low and behold my face is now flat there! I have since done the facial on my son who has acne on his forehead and it’s really helped a lot — most of the open sores closed within 24 hours and everything else is smaller and getting better every day. Oh, I also didn’t use their brush. I used an old blush brush.
